Little Entrepreneur

Screen season is upon us!

My daughter Isabella is learning the ropes on how to be an entrepreneur. She had been asking me why I was making flyers. I told her that since our business is just starting up, we need to focus our marketing dollars to be efficient and effective. She volunteered to give up her screen time to walk to various neighborhoods and drop off flyers to houses that didn't have window screens. She was very excited to interact with the customers and asked them to book a window screen measure so that they will not have bugs this spring.

Isabella closed her first customer sale by booking a window screen measure and an awning measure. The fire that this experience ignited in her is a valuable experience that many children don't get. As parents, we get too focused on our work or business that we sometimes neglect to pay attention to our children's cues. I learned throughout this experience that children want to be included, even if its at your work or business.

Isabella also learned a valuable lesson, money is not easy to earn. She now values the allowance that she gets and spends them wisely because she knows that its not easy to earn a dollar.

She is very excited to hear whenever the business phone rings, because she knows that her effort has paid off.
